From: British High Commission Kuala Lumpur Published 3 May 2024
The Modern Slavery Fund aims to support projects combatting modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking issues in Malaysia. We are looking to support efforts in this area through partnering with organisations, experts and stakeholders committed to eradicating modern slavery including human trafficking and forced labour. We want to support projects and activities that could reduce its prevalence in various sectors, improve prevention, and/or support victims.
Objectives.
We are particularly interested in project proposals that meet one or more of the following objectives:
strengthened capabilities to disrupt and prosecute perpetrators of modern slavery, forced labour and/or human trafficking within law enforcement and/or the criminal justice system.
greater understanding and ability within key at-risk industries to prevent and remedy modern slavery in their supply chains.
support ethical overseas recruitment processes to reduce the risk of debt bondage, forced labour and modern slavery.
improved survivor engagement, victim identification, needs-based support and reintegration, reducing the potential for re-trafficking.
an improved evidence base on what works best, how and where.
Bidding criteria and guidance.
projects will run from 1 June 2024 to 29 February 2025, with no expectations of funding beyond this period.
maximum budget: ?30,000 (including management and administration costs, and relevant local taxes).
Complete the project proposal form ( ODT , 76.6 KB ) and Activity Based Budget template ( ODS , 16.8 KB ) and submit latest by Monday, 27 May 2024.
